PL-990 - Speed Adjustment

The playback speed can be adjusted for the PL-990.

The speed increases when the SPEED ADJUST knob is turned to the LEFT (+).

The speed decreases when the SPEED ADJUST knob is turned to the RIGHT (-).

Stroboscope Window

This is used for using the SPEED ADJUST knob to set the standard speed (33-1/3 rpm or 45 rpm). 

• When the turntable is turning, four stripe patterns can be seen moving in the stroboscope window.
• When the SPEED button is on 45, pay attention to the two stripe patterns at the top, and when it is set to 33, pay attention to the two stripe patterns at the bottom. 
• When the frequency of the power supply used for this unit is 50Hz, look at the stripe pattern on the side of "50Hz >", and when the frequency is 60 Hz, look at the stripe pattern on the side of "60Hz >".
• Turn the SPEED ADJUST knob and adjust so that the stripe pattern appears to have stopped.
